Spray Technician

Belfair POA is seeking a Spray Technician to join our Agronomy Team. The Spray Technician is responsible for the safe and accurate application of fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and other turf and landscape treatments across Belfair's golf courses and 20-acre practice facility. 


Key Responsibilities include: 

  • Accurately mix, prepare, calibrate, and apply chemical solutions to turf, trees, shrubs, and other plant materials. 
  • Safely operate and maintain all spray equipment such as boom sprayers, handheld sprayers, and granular spreaders. 
  • Maintain detailed records of all chemical applications, including the type of chemical used, the application rate, and the areas treated ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to pesticide applications and safety procedures. 
  • Assist in maintaining the overall health and presentation of the golf course by communicating effectively with the Superintendent and team members regarding course conditions, pest problems, and treatment plans after conducting routine inspections to identify potential problem areas. 


Key Qualifications include: 

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in turf management, agronomy, or related field with experience in chemical applications. 
  • Ability to obtain a South Carolina Pesticide license within 3-6 months. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in work, while working in various weather conditions. 
  • Strong understanding of chemical safety, turf diseases, weeds, and pests. 
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to follow instructions, while working independently and as part of a team. 
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), walk, stand, and kneel for extended periods. 
  • This is a Full-Time position with variable hours depending on weather and seasonality. 
  • Alternating weekend and holiday availability will be required.
