Hampton Hall Club is an 1,100 acre private residential community ideally located between Hilton Head Island, SC and Savannah, GA.  The Pete Dye signature golf course was built in 2003.  The golf course underwent a significant restoration project that was completed in 2023.  During the restoration, greens were cored out 4” and replanted with TifEagle Bermudagrass, bunkers were reconfigured to the original Pete Dye design and multiple tees were added.  41 miles of subsurface drainage was installed in fairways and approaches on 15 holes.  Most recently the irrigation system was upgraded by installing 1800 new irrigation heads.   In addition to the quality golf course, Hampton Hall Club has a robust, congenial and supportive membership of nearly 400 households.   

The 2^nd Assistant will be involved in all aspects of golf course maintenance.  This position is ideal for someone who is looking for the opportunity to gain experience and expand their career in the golf course maintenance or landscape industry. 

Duties:

• Apply pesticides and fertilizers to golf course and landscaping.
• Maintain equipment used to apply fertilizers and pesticides.
• Maintain chemical and fertilizer storage areas.
• Help maintain proper records of fertilizer and pesticide applications.
• Manage the maintenance crew in certain situations.
• Assist in opening and closing the golf maintenance facility.
• Help train crew members.
• Setting up irrigation systems to water the golf course.
• Managing projects.
• Help with mowing, trim and maintain all playing surfaces.
• Bunker maintenance.
• Install additional drainage on the golf course.
• Operating equipment in a proficient and safe manner.
• Will perform work on irritation system as needed.

Educational and special Requirements

• A 2 year degree or certificate in Turf Management is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a positive attitude, a passion for golf and the turf industry.
• Must be able to move or pick up heavy objects.
• Maintain confidential information.
• Ability to lead, motivate and interact with others in a team environment.

Pay range:

 $45,000 to $50,000 depending on experience.
