We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Irrigation Technician for residential and turf field repairs. As well as someone to help maintain athletic fields to join our team in West End, NC. This full-time position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of residential and Sports Field irrigation systems to ensure optimal turf health. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in properly maintaining irrigation systems as well as maintaining our sports fields. 

Irrigation Technician/Maintain Sports Fields Reports to: Owner Position Overview 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, including heads, valves, pipes, and controllers. 
• Monitor system performance and make timely adjustments to ensure efficient water distribution. 
• Troubleshoot and resolve irrigation issues such as leaks, pressure problems, or controller malfunctions. 
• Assist in planning and implementing irrigation schedules based on weather, turf needs, and maintenance schedules. 
• Operate and maintain irrigation-related tools and equipment safely and effectively. 
• Perform seasonal start-up and winterization of irrigation systems. 
• Work closely with the owner daily. 
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts inventory, and irrigation schedules. 
• Respond to irrigation emergencies as needed 
• Use Reel Mowers, Weedeaters, Blowers, Edgers to maintain sports fields. 
• It’s a 50/50 mix between irrigation and maintaining sports fields. 
• Knowledge, Skills, and Experience 
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with residential or large turf irrigation systems (Hunter or Rain Bird preferred). 
• Strong understanding of irrigation system components, water conservation techniques, and turfgrass water requirements. 
• Ability to read and interpret irrigation blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics. 
• Basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. 
• Familiarity with central irrigation control systems and scheduling software. 
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced outdoor environment. 
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
