The Head Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall management of all golf course maintenance equipment. This includes mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, small engine equipment, and specialized turf equipment. The role requires expertise in mechanical diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently to support the course's maintenance and operational needs. - Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues on a variety of equipment, including gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered machinery. - Perform preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of machines. - Maintain cutting units for proper height, sharpness, and quality of cut to meet the course’s playing standards. - Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repairs. - Develop and implement a maintenance schedule for all equipment, ensuring reliability during peak seasons. - Train staff on proper equipment usage, safety protocols, and routine maintenance practices. - Collaborate with the Golf Course Superintendent to prioritize equipment needs based on course conditions and events. - Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including the proper handling of hazardous materials and waste disposal. - Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
