The Crossing, Richmond VA is entering an exciting new chapter under the ownership of McConnell Golf. After being closed for nearly four years, the golf course is undergoing a significant renovation and restoration project backed by an approximately $7 million investment. The goal is to return The Crossing to its former prominence and establish it as one of the premier public golf facilities in the Richmond market. 

McConnell Golf is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Golf Course Superintendent to lead this transformation. This role offers a unique opportunity to build an agronomic program from the ground up, assemble and develop a maintenance team, and oversee the transition from construction to full golf course operations. The Superintendent will work closely with the Vice President of Agronomy, General Manager, construction and renovation teams, architects, contractors, and McConnell Golf leadership throughout the redevelopment and reopening process. 

Position Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the agronomic program for The Crossing.
• Recruit, train, and lead the golf course maintenance team.
• Oversee the transition from renovation and construction to daily course operations.
• Establish maintenance standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, renovation teams, and club leadership.
• Prepare the facility to operate as a first-class public golf course.
