This is a role for a self-directed leader who values clarity over chaos, process over reaction, and long-term enhancement over short-term fixes.

Course Conditioning & Agronomic Strategy

  •     Design and implement comprehensive turf programs that produce consistent, high-performance playing conditions
  •     Establish documented standards for daily setup, firmness, speed, and visual presentation
  •     Manage irrigation, drainage, and water systems with data-driven decision-making
  •     Maintain detailed records to guide forecasting, planning, and continuous improvement
  •     Lead renovation, restoration, and construction projects with a long-term architectural mindset

Operational Infrastructure & Asset Management

  •     Build and maintain a highly organized, efficient maintenance facility aligned with course standards
  •     Implement structured equipment maintenance, replacement planning, and lifecycle management
  •     Ensure regulatory compliance and precise chemical and fertilizer documentation
  •     Develop and enforce comprehensive safety systems


People & Performance Systems

  •     Recruit, develop, and lead a team operating with clear expectations and defined processes
  •     Create measurable performance standards for daily course presentation
  •     Conduct structured training, evaluation, and professional development
  •     Lead through visibility, consistency, and preparation


Financial Planning & Resource Allocation

  •     Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets
  •     Forecast equipment, infrastructure, and project needs
  •     Implement cost-control strategies that protect course conditions and long-term goals


Club Integration & Communication

  •     Provide clear, proactive communication on course conditions, agronomic programs, and project timelines
  •     Align maintenance planning with the club calendar and competitive schedule
  •     Present information in a way that builds confidence in the plan and process


Property & Infrastructure Stewardship

  •     Maintain accurate documentation of utilities, drainage, grading, and landscape systems
  •     Support storm preparation and emergency response with structured plans
  •     Ensure the entire property reflects a cohesive, high-end presentation


Background & Technical Capability

  •     4–8 years progressive golf course management experience
  •     2–5 years as a First/Lead Assistant Superintendent preferred
  •     Turfgrass degree or certificate
  •     Advanced Ultradwarf Bermudagrass experience
  •     GCSAA certification preferred


Pesticide applicator license

  •     Strong technology and data-management skills
  •     Experience with capital planning and project execution

Physical Requirements

  •     Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
  •     Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  •     Ability to walk, climb, bend, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods
