Position Overview 

Birkdale Golf Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Golf Course Superintendent to lead the agronomy team in delivering consistently high-quality course conditions year-round. The Superintendent will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with an established team, including an Assistant Superintendent and Equipment Manager. This is a hands-on, high‑visibility role with the opportunity to make a lasting impact at one of the Charlotte area’s top daily fee golf courses. 

Key Responsibilities

• Daily course setup and inspection to ensure optimal playability and presentation 
• Lead and manage the agronomy team, including the Assistant Superintendent and Mechanic 
• Manage the Toro Lynx central irrigation system 
• Plan and execute fertilizer and pesticide applications 
• Maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards 
• Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and parts 
• Maintain accurate records and agronomic reporting 
• Collaborate with GM and Pinnacle leadership to implement maintenance plans and meet budget goals

Requirements & Qualifications

• 3+ years of golf course superintendent or assistant superintendent experience 
• 2- or 4-year degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, or related field NC 
• Certified Pesticide Applicator’s License (required upon hire) 
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills 
• Excellent communication and attention to detail 
• Mechanical aptitude and irrigation experience are a plus
