The Valley Golf Couse (formerly Hidden Valley) is a public golf course owned by the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission.  The 18 hole course, which sits on 187 acres about 30 minutes southwest of downtown Columbia South Carolina, has operated as a private club since 1964.  The course is currently being completely renovated along with a redesign of about 70% of the course.  The Commission is a governmental Special Purpose District that provides a diverse range of recreation programs along with providing Senior Services in Lexington County.

Job Responsibilities:

• Inspects, diagnoses, repairs and maintains all pieces of turf management equipment to the highest degree with the emphasis on precise quality of cut.
• Assists with the appropriate scheduling of preventative maintenance, prioritized repairs and reel set up
• Troubleshoots all equipment
• Strict adherence to precision reel setup procedures
• Maintains a clean, well-organized shop with safety the highest of priorities
• Assists with golf course special projects
• Complies with all LCRAC policies, procedures and safety regulations
• Maintains a strong knowledge of emergency procedures
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent required
• Minimum of two years of appropriate schooling, training or experience required
• Minimum of two (2) years in a similar position preferred
• Must have a valid SC Driver’s License and be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
• CDL preferred but not required
