We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Golf Course Equipment Mechanic to lead the reset and modernization of our fleet maintenance facility. This is a key role for a public golf course committed to delivering excellent playing conditions 12 months a year. You will be instrumental working with club ownership in upgrading our current shop and equipment maintenance program to meet today’s industry standards while preparing for the arrival of significant new equipment in 2027.If you take pride in keeping high-value turf equipment running at peak performance, enjoy problem-solving in a fast-paced outdoor environment, and want to build a best-in-class maintenance operation, this is your opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Reset & Modernization: Evaluate the existing maintenance shop and implement industry-standard organization, safety protocols, tool control, parts inventory systems, and preventive maintenance tracking (digital or CMMS).
Equipment Maintenance & Repair:
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance on a full range of golf course equipment including reel mowers, rotary mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, aerators, top dressers, and irrigation components.
New Equipment Integration (2027):
Prepare for and assist with the seamless onboarding, setup, and training on a major influx of new fleet equipment arriving in 2027.
Year-Round Reliability:
Maintain equipment uptime throughout all seasons to support continuous golf operations, including winter conditioning and snow-removal equipment when applicable.
Preventive Maintenance Program:
Develop and execute a robust PM schedule that minimizes downtime and extends equipment life.
Record Keeping & Compliance:
Maintain accurate service records, parts usage, and safety documentation. Ensure compliance with environmental and OSHA regulations.
Shop Leadership:
Mentor any junior technicians or seasonal staff and help establish a culture of excellence in equipment care.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a mechanic, preferably in golf course, turf, agricultural, or heavy equipment maintenance.
- Strong diagnostic and repair skills on gasoline, diesel, and electric-powered equipment.
- Familiarity with Toro, John Deere, CAT, Kaubto, or similar premium turf equipment is highly preferred.
- Ability to read electrical/hydraulic schematics and use diagnostic tools. Welding, fabrication, and small-engine expertise are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- CDL or ability to obtain one is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions year-round.
