Howard Fertilizer located in Charlotte, NC is looking for someone to fill their front counter associate position.

Reports To: Sales Team 

Job Summary: 

As a Front Counter Associate, you will be the first point of contact for our company. You will welcome and greet customers who visit the business. You will coordinate front-desk activities, including answering and redirecting phone calls and order entry. To be successful as a front desk associate, you should have a pleasant personality, as this is also a customer service role. 

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Greet customers with a welcoming attitude. 
• Answer incoming calls with a friendly and helpful attitude. 
• Efficiently and accurately give estimates to customers. 
• Process orders at store front level. 
• Explain products and services to customers with confidence and knowledge. 
• Support outside sales team in day-to-day operations, including order entry. 
• Operate and maintain office equipment, computer and copiers. 
• Maintain/stock storefront shelves, and general office cleanliness. 
• Perform additional tasks as needed. 

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent 
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older 
• General Turf and Horticulture knowledge
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
• Hands-on experience with office equipment 
• Professional attitude and appearance 
• Solid written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise 
• Excellent organizational skills 
• Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and problem-solve, 
• Customer service attitude 
• Bilingual a plus 
• Experience in the golf or landscape/lawn care industries a plus
