Surf Golf & Beach Club – North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Established in 1960, Surf Golf & Beach Club is an 18-hole private golf course originally designed by George Cobb and later renovated by John LaFoy in 1996 and 2016.

The golf course features Champion Bermuda grass greens and 419 Bermuda grass fairways, tees, and roughs. Our goal is to consistently provide exceptional playing conditions for our membership while maintaining a healthy work-life balance for our staff. While occasional extended hours are required for aerification, topdressing, tournament preparation, and special projects, we strive to operate efficiently and maintain a reasonable work schedule throughout the year.

Surf Golf & Beach Club has recently invested heavily in its infrastructure, including:

• New HDPE Toro irrigation system with Lynx control software
• Four Toro Smart Hubs
• Two new pump stations
• Two deep irrigation wells located on property

The club has also approved a major golf course renovation beginning in the summer of 2027, including renovations to:

• Greens
• Bunkers
• Tees
• Practice facilities

In addition, the club is currently undergoing a clubhouse transformation featuring a new campus-style design that will replace the existing clubhouse.

Position Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years of golf course maintenance experience
• Working knowledge of irrigation systems, including troubleshooting and basic repairs
• Previous private club experience preferred
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to multitask and effectively lead team members
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Understanding of and appreciation for the game of golf
• Possess, or be able to obtain, a South Carolina pesticide applicator license within 90 days of employment
