Carolinas Golf Course Superintendents Association

Director of Agronomy

Director of Agronomy

The Crossings Golf Club is a distinctive 18-hole, par 71 course located at 4023 Wake Forest Hwy, Durham, North Carolina, just minutes from the RDU Airport. The course was designed by acclaimed architect Ron Garl and opened in 1997, this facility stands out as one of only two original Ron Garl designs in North Carolina and is recognized for its unique layout and thoughtful routing over the natural terrain.

The course is routed to take advantage of the land’s rolling hills, wetlands and native features—placing green sites naturally, preserving vistas and making full use of the terrain. From strategically placed bunkers (including Garl’s signature “cornflake” and beach bunkers) to dramatic waterlines and a highlight “island green” on the 12th hole, the test is engaging for golfers of all levels.

Turf surfaces are comprised of Bermuda fairways with newly renovated Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermudagrass greens, providing premium playability in the Triangle region climate. The Crossings has been honored by the Triangle Business Journal as the “Most Challenging Public & Semi-Private Golf Course” in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area in 2019, and “Best Public & Semi-Private Golf Course” in 2020.
