Moss Creek Owners Association is seeking a motivated and passionate Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join its Golf & Grounds team. Located on more than 1,000 acres just before the bridge to Hilton Head Island, Moss Creek features two Tom Fazio-designed championship golf courses, beautiful natural landscapes, and a premier private club community. Position Summary

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent and Director of Golf & Grounds Maintenance to oversee daily golf course maintenance operations and ensure outstanding playing conditions for members and guests. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with the maintenance of tees, greens, fairways, roughs, lagoons, and cart paths.
• Supervise and develop Equipment Operators, Irrigation Technicians, and Spray Technicians.
• Schedule work assignments and maximize the efficient use of personnel and resources.
• Train employees on proper equipment operation and safe work practices.
• Apply pesticides and calibrate, maintain, and operate application equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant chemical facility.
• Assist with irrigation systems, drainage systems, and pump station operations.
• Support employee development, safety initiatives, and performance management efforts.
• Assist with daily golf course setup and provide supervisory coverage when needed.
• Support community maintenance operations as necessary. 

Required:

• Turfgrass degree, Turfgrass Certificate, or a minimum of five (5) years of applicable golf course maintenance experience.
• Pesticide Application Certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong mathematical aptitude, including budgeting, measurements, and equipment calibration.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet applications.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English. 

Physical Requirements

This position is primarily performed outdoors and requires the ability to:

• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, crawl, and lift 50+ pounds.
• Work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, and rain.
• Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
