The Valley Golf Couse (formerly Hidden Valley) is a public golf course owned by the Lexington County Recreation and Aging Commission.  The 18 hole course, which sits on 187 acres about 30 minutes southwest of downtown Columbia South Carolina, has operated as a private club since 1964.  The course is currently being completely renovated along with a redesign of about 70% of the course.  The Commission is a governmental Special Purpose District that provides a diverse range of recreation programs along with providing Senior Services in Lexington County.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and execution of daily maintenance operations
• Supervise and train maintenance staff to ensure high standards and efficiency
• Monitor irrigation and moisture management systems
• Participate in pesticide and fertilizer applications and record-keeping
• Aid in planning for future capital projects and golf course improvements
• Help enforce safety standards and ensure proper use of equipment
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management or related field preferred
• 1-3 years of golf course maintenance experience (internships count)
• SC pesticide license or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Strong work ethic with a passion for the turf industry
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and early mornings as needed
• Ability to lead, motivate, and work as part of a team
