Prestonwood Country Club, located in Cary N.C., is looking for a highly motivated, passionate candidate to fill our open Assistant Superintendent position on the Meadows Golf Course.  Prestonwood is a 54-hole facility and has been host to the SAS Championship (PGA Tour Champions) for the last 24 years, with the 25^th Anniversary being held this October.  The SAS Championship is unique in that the 18-hole route uses 9 holes from the Meadows and Highlands Golf Courses to make the tournament course. 

The Meadows Golf Course has Champion Ultradwarf putting greens and 419 Bermuda grass tees, rough and fairways.  The preferred candidate must have a strong work ethic and can lead by example through positive reinforcement.  The Assistant must be able to work closely with the Superintendent and be able to help solve problems and bring ideas for the betterment of the golf course. 

Responsibilities:

• Management of crew and daily course preparation
• Calibration of Chemical and Fertilizer Applications
• Record keeping for Chemical and Fertilizer applications
• Supervise and train staff in daily tasks to ensure standards of quality and efficiency
• Assist in budgeting, planning and inventory management
• Uphold high standards in safety and environmental sustainability

Requirements:

• Must have a 2- or 4-year degree in Agronomy or Turfgrass Management
• Prior Golf Course experience not required, but preferred
• Must have N.C. Pesticide License or be able to obtain within 90 days
• Strong leadership skills
• The ability to operate all GCM Equipment
• The ability to solve problems in a professional manner
• Valid Driver’s License
• Background check and Drug Screening
